L’évolution du bâti agricole en France métropolitaine : un indice des mutations agricoles et rurales

Abstract : Over the last decades, the urban sprawl, by moving the land from an agricultural use to a residential one, has been a major element in land use issues. Housing – particularly single-family detached homes – and the infrastructure servicing it, are taking up a growing share of land use. Moreover, since the 90s, new buildings related to agricultural activities have been erected to cope with the new conditions of the agricultural sector. In the context of a diminishing number of farms since World War II, monitoring the construction of buildings related to agriculture provides a key for understanding ongoing agricultural changes.
