A Comparison of Entropy Metrics in 1D Discrete Dynamical System
Abstract
In this paper, we present a brief review of theapplication of the entropy metrics in one dimensional discretedynamical system, focusing on the concept of density, we presentand study the variations of the several metrics including infor-mation entropy, collision and statistical mechanical functions. These metrics are applied on lattice where each site can eitherbe occupied or empty by one particle which is a convenientmethodology for modeling the traffic flow of particles in onedimensional geometry. We discuss the necessary hypothesis ofindiscernible particles for the Boltzmann entropy in order toobtain a coherent result with other classical metrics where allthe functions are described by two phases with critical density of0.5. This comparative study is illustrated using simulation resultsand independently of the dynamics of the system, in the last partwe explain the link between the density and a particular case ofnormalized traffic model.
