Études d’épigraphie thasienne, V. Théores et archontes thasiens de la basse époque hellénistique et du début de l’Empire : du simple au double

Abstract : Thasian theoroi and archontes from the end of the Hellenistic and the beginning of the imperial period: from singular to double. New evidence allows us to make progress in our knowledge of the later sections of the Thasian magistrate-lists, which were, until now, very imperfectly known. It is possible to observe an interesting phenomenon for the theoroi of the late Hellenistic period, namely one of duplication : several collegia feature both in the ‘Grande Liste des théores’ and in individual commemorative inscriptions. Three of the latter are here published. They allow for a hypothesis to be formulated concerning the structure of column 14 of the List, which corresponds to the final third of the second century BC. A similar phenomenon of duplication can be observed in the ‘Grande Liste des archontes’ for the first century AD, a period when most of the archontes have the title of ‘philokaisar kai philopatris’, which must indicate a connection with the imperial cult.
