Étude expérimentale de l'éclatement tourbillonnaire en bordure d'une plaque immergée sous la houle

Abstract : The interaction of waves with a submerged structure generates intense vortex filaments which have a strong impact on their surroundings. The dynamics of these filaments has strongly three-dimensional mechanisms of destabilization whose characterization is an experimental challenge. To identify and understand these mechanisms, we used digital in-line holography to measure the three-dimensional velocity distribution in the vortex and have a better understanding of the nature of the vortex destabilization.
