Abstract

Using systematically high-voltage shielded cables for electric powertrain requires to develop and deploy numerical simulation models to analyze the EMC issues. This paper presents a method to model pigtails of shielded cables when using the combined MoM/MTL approach to overcome the limitations of the transmission line theory. As the MoM and MTL methods are both based on different models, there cannot be any numerical connection simultaneously between each other. To study the direct coupling through different numerical models, the proposed model is based on a reformulation of the currents and the voltages at the terminations of the shielded cable described by an S-parameters black box. To confirm our approach, a comparison between the standard MTL model and a MoM full-wave model with the proposed method is done in the 10 kHz-300 MHz frequency band. The results of different numerical techniques are presented and are in good agreement.
