Design methodology of a passive reflectarray for main beam collimation
Abstract
This paper proposes a design methodology of a planar passive reflectarray, which is able to focus indoor arbitrary energy within a particular direction range. A typical circular patch is considered as the unit cell of the structure, while phase tuning (intrinsic and structural excitation phase shifts) between cells is realized with delay lines, in order to collimate the main beam. Theoretical results compare well with full-wave simulations for a specified main beam collimation objective. The proposed formulation can be implemented within an optimization algorithm for `quick' design purposes.
