La participation parentale à l’école maternelle à l’épreuve du handicap

Abstract : Since the law of 2005, school attendance of pupils in situation of disability has become a matter of rights. The parents have a new place in the school and nursery school is particularly affected with this change. What place for every partner in this relationship? From analysis of research interviews with parents and teachers in nursery school concerned with disability, we have located hardships and hurdles to overcome with the aim of produce educational bond in that meeting. The concept of ‘go-between’ developed by Daniel Sibony (1991) is proved very operational to study the go-between position of teachers favourable to parental involvement. The success of that meeting depends on acknowledge, understanding and mutual trust between parents and teachers. It’s important for the teacher to find the go-between position towards the parents. The bond in go-between position is present when the teachers establish a relation founded on reduction of differences and valorization of common points.
