Caractériser l’attractivité des quartiers urbains par les données de la téléphonie mobile

Abstract : Variability in the attractiveness of places in urban areas can be assessed through the accuracy of spatial and temporal information provided by the mobile phone data on mobility of residents and visitors (users’geolocation in real time and flows of calls and messages exchanged). These new data on mobility reveal another day and night reading of urban spaces, and the existence of the urban pulses. Some of these urban pulses seem to be regular activity of the city. Some others seem to be unusual, as the disturbances introduced by the development of major cultural or sporting events. These urban pulses, that is to say, the variable intensity of urban life and uses of the city, shed light on the heterotopic dimension of places in town, as well as the actual practices of urban space by users, likely to individualized for a given time a piece of city according to the concept of chronotope.
