Trajetórias de exclusão social: rupturas de vida e abandono entre usuários de crack

Abstract : Based on the interpretative key of social exclusion, this article composes a part of a larger study that sought to analyze the trajectories of Brazilian crack users. More precisely, it focuses on the intersubjective dimension of this phenomenon, revealing how exclusion was experienced by the actors within the scope of the interpersonal relationships and social networks. It found that family and friends’ social roles were at the same time reinforced in expectation and frustrated in practice. As a result of this disruption, participants who felt excluded reported consequential feelings like distrust, abandonment, rejection, lonely, which incited them to isolate themselves. In short, the trajectories of ruptures and social exclusion presented were initially provoked and stimulated by external agents, and, in the end, desired by an individual who no longer endured the rejection and resistances of his originals social groups.
