Complex Chalcogenides Pseudo-Hollandites, Structures and Properties
Abstract
This chapter is dedicated to a newer group of prospective thermoelectric materials, the so-called pseudo-hollandite compounds of the general formula AyM5X8. Although their thermoelectric gure of merit ZT is less impressive than the ZTs of some other classical and newly discovered materials, this family of chalcogenides exemplies very well how one might think about using solid-state chemistry to discover new ways to achieve the desired properties.
