Engagement de l’élève et développement des compétences (inter)culturelles : de quelques enjeux et modalités de l’appropriation des textes littéraires à l’école

Abstract : The research presented concerns initial training (master 1 and 2) for primary school teachers and is based on two workshops which were held at the ESPE in Caen. The subject area concerned is French, and specifically literature. The research aims to address the issue of student engagement and of the development of didactics to encour-age pupil engagement with and through literary texts. It mobilizes several key concepts: identity, otherness, social ties, intercultura-tion, symbolic mobility. The premise is that student engagement could be developed through the appropriation of cultural and iden-tity issues. This will be exemplified by the analysis of projects which are under way and of reflective writing by trainee teachers.
