"Do so" : une simple forme complexe ?

This paper deals with the combination of the marker so and the relator do, whether considered as an auxiliary or a verb. This combination is problematical, from the point of view both of the nature of its constituents and of that of the combination as a whole. These problems are mainly due to the limits of the conceptual tools employed and can in large part be resolved in a unitary fashion by resorting to a system of metalinguistic representation that takes into account the subjective structuration of the predicative relation anaphorically referred to and its location relative to an enunciative space.

Cet article traite de la combinaison du marqueur so et du relateur do, qu'il soit considéré comme auxiliaire ou comme verbe. Cette combinaison est problématique tant du point de vue de la nature de so que de celles de do ou de l'ensemble do so. Ces problèmes sont essentiellement liés aux limites de l'appareillage conceptuel utilisé et peuvent être en partie résolus de manière unitaire par un recours à un système de représentation métalinguistique prenant en compte la structuration subjective de la relation prédicative reprise et son repérage énonciatif.
