Le Texte antique comme nouveau pharmakos de la scène allemande ?

Abstract : German rewriting of Ancient drama as seen in contemporary productions increases the acts of deconsecration, even debasement of the Ancient dramatic text and of the mythical material on which it is based. Y et this dismantling, this dismembermg of the text may be seen today as the emergence of a new sacrificial practice whose apparent monstrosity - unleashed violence, questioning of all standards, a complete revision of how far one can go - may be interpreted as a metamorphosis of progress, destined to regenerate the contemporary stage. . Analysing productions by Grüber, Schleef or Ciulli, allows us to determine to what extent the Greek text may take, in the end, the role of the pharmakos (scapegoat), the dismemberment of which might make possible a return to a state of the commumty now lost, restored for a while.
