De la thérapie contextuelle au paradigme du don, et retour

Abstract : The purpose of this paper is to discuss Pierre Michard’ book, La Thérapie contextuelle de Böszörményi-Nagy [Boszorenvi-Nagy’s Contextual Therapy]. It shows how the hungarian therapist, like Marcel Mauss, did a fundamental discovery, that psychic “symptoms” are nothing other than gift “pathologies.” This unprecedented invitation to study differently what Lévi-Strauss called the “elementary structures of kinship” opens to an original clinical practice. It aims to allow, in a dialogue within the family on the links that are tied into it, the emergence of the paradoxes of the gift and the debt in order to make possible the durability of the link and its subjectivating force.
