Les mots crétiques finaux dans les sénaires du théâtre républicain à Rome : de la forme au sens

Abstract : Having studied the clausulae of the type fortunae obiacent in the trimeters of Seneca (RELat 15, 2015, 29-51), I wished to extend this investigation to the senarii of the republican theatre. This type of clausula reveals that there are two kinds of senarii, proper to comedy and to tragedy. In fact the modes of the oratio numerosa are associated with this particular way of ending the verse, whereas comedy follows the procedures of the oratio uincta.
