De l’avantage de comparer les "carrières supportéristes" à des "carrières militantes"

Abstract : How does one become a football supporter? This article aims to define the dynamics leading individuals to become a part of a group of supporters, participating in its activities, by comparing them with militant careers. Indeed, used by the sociology of militant engagement, the concept of career allows to study the individuals and the interactions but also the organizations. This proposal is a way to open up research on sports fandom towards other theoretical frames. Moreover, it is an invitation to see supporters as associative actors and to construct a political sociology able to think, beyond the metaphoric use, the «militancy» of stadiums.
