A well established population of the Atlantic blue crab Callinectes sapidus (Rathbun, 1896) in the English Channel?

In October 2017 and February 2018, two ovigerous females of Callinectes sapidus were collected in the Bay of Seine, Normandy. Occurrences of ovigerous females of the blue crab at different localities of the bay suggest that the population is well established in the English Channel.

Une population bien établie du crabe bleu d'Atlantique Callinectes sapidus (Rathbun, 1896) dans la Manche. En octobre 2017 et février 2018, deux femelles ovigères de Callinectes sapidus ont été échantillonnées en baie de Seine, Normandie. Ces nouvelles observations suggèrent qu'une population du crabe bleu est bien établie en Manche.
