Le poème en prose, forme de la « contre-terreur »

Abstract : This paper focuses on the vivid form of the prose poem in René Char’s Fureur et mystère (Furor and Mystery). Based on a study of the construction of the collection of poems and taking into account the central position of the leaf of Hypnos no. 141 – known as the “counter-terror” – the article analyses the role that this form plays in its relationship to the poetic act. To this end, a double system of opposition is laid out : between the lyrical text in verse and the prose poem (form of a lyricism in minor, resoaked in elementary matter and thought of as a vector of endurance and perseverance) ; between aphorism (whose value is potentially prescriptive) and the prose poem (form of an action “without burden,” with an uncertain enunciation and a deliberately ambiguous meaning).
