Androgynie psychologique et perception de la déviance : aspects développementaux

Abstract : The aim of this research was to study the evolution with age of self representations linked to masculinity/feminity and to observe effects of these self representations on social judgment. It is noted 1) that with age, the self attribution of feminine caracteristics increases at the expense of masculine. 2) that subjects having unisexual self perception (feminine or masculine) in contrast with androgynous subjects, adopt extremely negative judgments towards deviant behaviour. Finally, gender schema theory and asymetrical status between men and women are evoked to explain these results.
