The ambiguity of textual properties of noun phrases in BA construction : a descriptive approach to processing phrase properties in Chinese
L'ambiguité des propriétés textuelles des syntagmes nominaux dans la construction BA : une approche descriptive du traitement des propriétés des syntagmes en chinois
Résumé
This thesis is devoted to the study of noun phrases in the BA construction, which is based on two main axes: hierarchisation and specificity of noun phrases. This thesis uses as corpus the novel The Dream of the Red Chamber. Through statistical enumeration, we were able to extract the construction that contains the reference string in the two preliminary studies; and then, we were able to obtain the form of the phrases and the referential distance that allow us to identify the degree of referential accessibility and thematic continuity in order to define the hierarchy of the phrases; Finally, still by means of the statistical enumeration, we were able to obtain the preference of the antecedent position and the preference of the combination of properties of the proto-role which allow us to identify the thematic progression and the category of the proto-role to define the specificity of the phrases. By extending the theoretical and methodological level, and by analysing the textual properties, we were able to clarify the ambiguity of the textual properties of noun phrases in the BA construction.
Cette thèse est consacrée à l’étude des syntagmes nominaux dans la construction BA et repose sur deux grands axes : la hiérarchisation et la spécificité des syntagmes nominaux. Cette thèse utilise comme corpus le roman Le Rêve dans le pavillon rouge. Par le recensement statistique, nous avons pu extraire la construction contenant la chaîne de référence dans les deux études préliminaires ; ensuite, nous avons pu obtenir la forme des syntagmes et la distance référentielle qui nous permettent de cerner le degré de l’accessibilité référentielle et de la continuité thématique afin de définir une hiérarchisation des syntagmes. Enfin, toujours par le biais du recensement statistique, nous avons pu obtenir la préférence de la position d’antécédent et la préférence de la combinaison des propriétés du proto-rôle qui nous permettent de cerner la progression thématique et la catégorie du proto-rôle pour définir la spécificité des syntagmes. Par élargissement au niveau théorique et méthodologique, en analysant les propriétés textuelles, nous avons pu éclaircir l’ambiguïté des propriétés textuelles des syntagmes nominaux dans la construction BA.
