Identification et cartographie des métabolites secondaires de nouvelles souches de levures tropicales.

Abstract : This PhD thesis project is named “Identification and cartography of secondary metabolites from new tropical yeast strains”. The main objective is the development of a dereplication methodology and the application of it to the exploration of the secondary metabolites from unicellular fungal extracts. The developed method implies ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography hyphenated with mass spectrometry with the use of the molecular networking tool in combination with the ultra-high-resolution mass spectrometry. The methodology allows the annotation of the detected metabolites from acquired data, that is to say the formulation of hypotheses about the structure and identity of the numerous molecules produced by the analyzed yeast. Moreover, cartography and metabolic profiles are provided thanks to the built diagrams and molecular networks. The application of the methodology to new yeast strains led to the annotation of hundreds of metabolites, with a rich content in alkaloids, but also in amino-acids, terpenoids and sterols.
